Ameren Power Outages Down Below 5600 From Peak of 10,000

Ameren Illinois field personnel and support staff continue to battle frigid temperatures and hazardous working conditions while working to restore power to several thousand customers in Illinois, after the weekend’s snowstorm.

As of 4 o’clock Monday afternoon, the Ameren web site reported 5600 customers without power, after a peak of some 10-thousand customers earlier in the day on Monday.

Most of the remaining outages are in the Decatur, Champaign, Paris, and southeastern Illinois areas.

Residents are reminded to watch for and avoid downed electric lines. To report an outage, call Ameren at 800-755-5000.
