Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Duncan Keith tallied a goal and an assist
as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Nashville Predators, 3-1, at
Bridgestone Arena.
Patrick Kane and Nick Leddy supplied the other goals. Chicago has now scored
power-play goals in 10 straight games with Kane and Leddy both lighting the
lamp on the man advantage.
Antti Raanta turned aside 27-of-28 shots as the Blackhawks have won two
straight and five of their last six.
Nashville captain Shea Weber scored his team's only goal and Carter Hutton
allowed all three goals on 27 shots in the defeat, snapping a three-game win
streak.
Chicago scored quickly when Keith received a dish from Marian Hossa and ripped
a shot from the blue line to beat Hutton 1:29 into the game.
Nashville tied the game less than two minutes later. Marcus Kruger went off to
the box for a face-off violation. After Brent Seabrook failed to clear the
zone, Roman Josi slipped a pass over to Weber, who blasted the puck from the
left circle on a one-timer past Raanta at 3:03.
After taking a pass from Patrick Sharp, Kane lifted a backhand over the
shoulder of Hutton on the power play for his 20th of the season with close to
four minutes left in the first.
Leddy fired a shot from the left side of Hutton that quickly crossed the goal
line into the net and flew out. The goal was originally waved off, but after
further review it was deemed a good goal 11:33 into the second.
