THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Learned N. Leavell, 50, of PO Box 8717, Springfield, was arrested on December 9 on a warrant for retail theft.

James W. Lunsford, 24, of 708 West Prairie Street, Taylorville, was arrested on December 9 on a bond forfeiture for possession of cannabis.

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CRASHES:

On December 9th, Anthony E. Nation, 27, of Taylorville stated that both he and Daniel S. Ward, 47, of Taylorville were stopped at the intersection of Walnut and Pleasant. Nation stated that they both went at the same time and he struck Ward. Ward stated that as he was going through the intersection, Nation proceeded and struck his vehicle. Ward stated that the windshield on Nation's vehicle was completely iced and frosted over. A Taylorville Police Department officer observed Nation's vehicle and the windshield was still iced and frosted over. Nation was issued a citation for a defective windshield (ice/frost). Nation had front end damage and Ward had rear driver's side quarter panel damage.
