Central Illinois remains in what the United States Department of Agriculture is calling a moderate to severe drought.
The latest information released from U-S-D-A, shows severe drought conditions still plaguing Macon, DeWitt, Piatt, and Moultrie Counties. Moderate drought conditions remain in Christian, Sangamon, Logan, McLean, Champaign and Douglas Counties.
The U-S-D-A says 24-percent of the state is in moderate drought, with another 3-point-4 percent in severe drought. 31-percent of the state is not suffering drought conditions.
