Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 10-28-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Briar D. Samson, 18, of 901 East Stephenson Street, Taylorville, was arrested October 26 on a bond forfeiture for failure to appear/answer.

Angela L. Peters, 45, of 1018 East Adams, Taylorville, was arrested October 27 on a warrant for the manufacturing and delivery of 15-100 grams of cannabis (720 570)

Joseph M. Jophlin, 28, of 713 North Poplar, Pana, was arrested October 25 for driver's license revoked or suspended.

Donald G. Foster, 35, of 310 North Foggit, Edinburg, was arrested October 26 on a bond forfeiture for driving with a suspended license.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

On October 26 at 3:00pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol and observed Briar Samson, 18, of Taylorville walking through the parking lot at Walgreens. The officer knew Samson to have a Christian County warrant. Dispatch verified the warrant through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System. Samson was placed under the arrest and transported to Christian County Correctional Center.

On October 26 at 3:36pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent out in reference to a disturbance with weapons involved. Following investigation, Antonio Hayes, 32, of Springfield was arrested for aggravated assault.

ACCIDENTS:

Cibele Arruda, 33, of Springfield was traveling westbound on Route 104. Brandon M. Lawrence, 22, of Kincaid attempted to pull onto Route 104 and struck the passenger side panel of Arruda. Lawrence stated it was his fault and that he just didn't see Arruda when he started pulling out. No injuries were reported.

 

THE PANA POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

The Pana Police Department is investigating an aggravated battery that occurred at the junction of 16 and 51 (Rosebud Truck Stop). Information will be sent to the State's Attorney's Office for possible charges.

On October 25, David Shrake reported a burglary and damage that had occurred to his sister's (Cora Shrake) residence at 5 East Washington. Two doors were damaged by unknown persons to gain entry into the residence. Case is under investigation.

On October 25, Randall Floyd reported a burglary and theft at 9 South State Street, Pana. Floyd reported unknown person(s) forced entry into the business causing damage to an entry door. Floyd reported the theft of a small amount of money frome inside. Case is under investigation.

On October 25, Tara Morrison reported a violation of an order of protection regarding an 18-year-old male subject. This case is under further investigation.

On October 26, Jonathan M. Burrus, 39, of Pana was issued a citation for speeding 22mph in a 10mph zone.

On October 26, Marissa R. Sliger, 17, of Pana was issued a citation for graduated driver failure to secure passengers under 19 with a seat belt.

On October 27, a Brunner Auto Supply employee reported that he walked in on a burglary in progress at the store. The subject ran from the building and was not located. The subject had forced entry by damaging a steel door and frame on the back of the building. No items were reported stolen. Case is under investigation.
