Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 10-21-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

Daniel Watkins, 23, of 64 East 300 North Road, Morrisonville, was arrested October 18 for possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property.

Rebecca L. Martell, 29, of 718 East Elm, Taylorville, was arrested October 18 for operating a vehicle uninsured.

Marcia A. Fleming-Hoffman, 52, of 210 North Cherokee Street Apt. 6, Taylorville, was arrested October 19 for failure to appear.

Ryan M. Tester, 32, of 602 Arlington Road, Taylorville, was arrested October 19 for domestic battery.

Randy J. Allen, 19, of RR1 Box 355A, Ramsey, was arrested October 19 on a warrant for failure to appear for an ordinance violation.

Derek A. Peters, 17, of 507 Walnut Street, Pana, was arrested October 20 for criminal damage to property and obstructing justice.


ACCIDENTS:

On October 19, Pamela R. Bullard, 54, of Stonington and Nicole E. Hosto, 28, of Mount Auburn, were both northbound on County Highway 22. Bullard slowed and signaled a right turn as she approached 1700 North Road. Hosto did not see Bullard's turn signal and did not realize she had slowed down as she prepared to turn. Hosto realized too late that Bullard was turning. Hosto applied the breaks leaving approximately 30" of skid marks before hitting Bullard in the rear bumper. The impact turned Bullard 180 degrees where she came to a stop on 1700 North Road facing south. No injuries were reported.

Carl C. Campbell, 42, was westbound on County Highway 2 about 500 feet west of 975 East Road when a deer ran out into the roadway in from of him. Campbell applied the brakes but was unable to avoid striking the deer. No injuries were reported.

 

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

On October 18 at 6:53pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer located Daniel Watkins, 23, of Morrisonville, in the lobby of Hershey Towers. The officer knew Watkins to have a warrant out of Moultrie County. Following the warrant arrest, Watkins was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. Watkins was transported to Christian County Correctional Center.

On October 18 at 9:53pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were out at 600 West Third Street in reference to a domestic dispute between a juvenile and his step father Thomas Foster. Following investigation, the juvenile was arrested for domestic battery, transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed and released to his grandmother.

On October 19 at 1:45am,Taylorville Police Department officers were out at 210 North Cherokee Apt. 6 in reference to an intoxicated male. Marcia A. Fleming-Hoffman, 52, of Taylorville, was located at this residence. She was arrested for a valid Christian County warrant and transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

On October 19 at 7:25pm, Tammy Samson called and advised of a female screaming for help. Samson advised the female was screaming from a residence across the street at 602 Arlington. Taylorville Police Department officers arrived at the address and spoke to Ryan Tester, 32, of Taylorville and Amanda Carnahan. Carnahan advised her and Tester had a verbal argument that turned physical. She advised Tester had butted and punched her several times in the head. She also advised that he threw her on the floor and up against the furniture. Carnahan advised she tried to leave the house several times but Tester would not let her. She advised she was able to reach the bathroom window and scream for help. Photos were taken of her injuries. Tester was arrested, transported to Taylorville Police Department where he was processed and then transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond. I.D.V.A. was given.

Ernest S. Stewart, 24, of 1301 West Adams Street, Taylorville, was arrested October 19 for violating an order of protection.

On October 19, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a retail theft. An officer spoke with Travis Miller from loss prevention. Upon further investigation David Haynes, 62, of Tovey was arrested for retail theft.

On October 20, a Taylorville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop and found Amanda J. Kee, 37, of Taylorville to be the driver. The officer ran her info through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System and it showed that her license was suspended. Kee was arrested and transported to Taylorville Police Department to be processed.

Lorenzo C. Harper, 24, of 1209 East Poplar, Taylorville, was arrested October 20 on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance.

ACCIDENTS:

On October 17, Anastasia M. Krager, 31, of Taylorville was slowing to a stop in traffic when Haley A. Robinson, 20, of Blue Mound struck her from behind. No injuries were reported.

On October 17, a deer jumped out in front of Nathan J. Holste, 24,of Springfield. No injuries were reported.
