CCEDC Board Informed of Proposed Property Swap at Annual Meeting

The Christian County Economic Development Corporation board of directors held their annual meeting Friday morning at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium, to review current economic development efforts in the county.

Ken Hart, a board member and also representing the local Taylorville Development Association, told the board about a proposed swap of property T-D-A currently owns near Archer Daniels Midland on the city’s northwest side, with property now owned by the Hopper Trust on Taylorville’s west side.

Hart said that the proposed property is very close to where the City of Taylorville invested heavily, in water and sewer infrastructure when the Wal-Mart Supercenter was built in 1999.

Hart is hopeful that the swap can occur so that the T-D-A will have a more marketable property for prospective industries to locate in Taylorville.
