The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce has announced backup plans for events at this weekend’s Chillifest, in the event of rain.

The Little Miss Chilli Pepper, Little Mister Chilli Pepper, and Junior Miss Chilli Pepper pageant scheduled for 9am Saturday, will be moved to the First United Methodist Church sanctuary, in the event of rain. A decision will be made by Chamber officials at 8 o’clock Saturday morning, as to whether to move it depending on weather conditions.

The Chillifest Bags Tournament, scheduled to begin with registration at 10am Saturday, will begin or resume when the rain stops.

All entertainment acts scheduled to appear on the Chillifest stage both days, will go on as scheduled, unless there’s rain, in which case individual performances will be cancelled if it’s raining at their scheduled performance time.

And, the Chamber has announced that due to the government shutdown, the U. S. Army Band will not be able to perform as scheduled at 11am Sunday. Instead, there will be a demonstration by the K-9 dogs of the Illinois State Police and Taylorville City Police Department.

You’re urged to follow local media this weekend for changes in the Chillifest events and locations, as well as on the chillifest-dot-info web site.
