Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 10-2-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Angel S. Hoover, 29, of 504 North Poplar Street, Pana, was arrested October 1 on a bond forfeiture for resisting a peace officer.

Travis J. Dyer, 22, of 1433 Heritage Landing, St. Charles, Missouri, was arrested October 1 on a warrant for speeding 40+ miles over the limit.

Michael Y. Naser, 22, of 10515 Walter Court, Palos Park, was arrested October 1 on a bond forfeiture for theft.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On October 1st at 6:31pm, Taylorville Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an Illinois Vehicle Code violation. Following the stop, Sharon K. Torres, 58, of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license suspended. Torres was released on a notice to appear.

On October 1st, a Taylorville Police Department officer received a complaint of a disturbance coming from 604 Northwestern. The officer was in the area and observed a vehicle leaving the residence. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for failure to signal. The officer made contact with the occupants if the vehicle and Joshua C. Wells, 23, of Taylorville was arrested for a valid warrant out of Christian County. Tawny L. Thomas, 18, of Stonington was also arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor. Wells was transported to Christian County Sheriff's Office in lieu of bond. Thomas was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and was released on a notice to appear.

On October 1st at 9:26pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were out on Route 48 just south of Stonington providing traffic control for a vehicle accident. While directing traffic around the accident, a vehicle traveling north on Rt. 48 had a male juvenile in the rear driver's side seat. The male juvenile was known to have a valid Christian County warrant. The juvenile was removed from the vehicle, arrested, and transported to Taylorville Police Department. The juvenile received a notice to appear and released to his mother.

 

THE PANA POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

On September 30, Gregory D. Scribner, 47, of Nokomis was parked at 1 West 2nd in Pana and Debra L. Clark, 63, of Tower Hill was parked at 10 West Second. Scribner has a manual transmission and the emergency brake does not work properly. Scribner rolled backwards down a slight grade, crossed 2nd Street, went over a curb, and struck Clark. Scribner was undamaged and Clark suffered moderate damage to the hood and passenger side headlight assembly.

On September 30, Monica S. Beck of Tower Hill reported a 16-year-old juvenile did not return home from school today. The juvenile was located by Pana Police and returned to Beck.

On October 1, Shelly Austin of Pana reported damage to her 1998 Buick Regal that had occurred sometime on September 30 at an unknown location by unknown persons. Case is under investigation.
On October 1, Blain A. Morrison, 17, of Pana was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign.
