Taylorville Park Board Approves Proposal for Driveway; Updated on Several Projects

The Taylorville Park District Board was presented with a proposal by Mike Kendle to build a driveway that would run into Park property for the piece of property he was planning to buy and build on located at Second and Park Street. The only issue was the closing of several gates during Christmas in the Park that would block Kendle’s entrance to his property. President Marlane Miller said they wouldn’t have to close the gate that blocks Second Street:

After several minutes of discussion, the Board approved the building of the driveway.

Recreation Director Bailey Hancock gave a report on the most recent Senior Lunch. Hancock says they received a generous donation from Walmart:

The next Senior Lunch will be October 10th.

Maintenance Superintendent Gary Brown told the Board that all the benches have been put in, the no smoking signs around the playgrounds have been put up, and the parking blocks at Jayne’s Park have been put down.

The meeting adjourned around 7:20pm.
