Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 9-3-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ACCIDENTS:
On September 2, Kyle P. Lasswell, 31, of Edinburg was traveling south on 1600 East Road and Edward F. Ludwig, 68, of Mount Auburn was traveling west on 2400 North Road. Ludwig advanced through the stop sign and crossed 2400 North Road. Lasswell hit Ludwig in the driver rear corner. Lasswell's vehicle was towed and he was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Ludwig reported no injuries.

INCIDENTS:
On August 31, Ryan Trelz, 27, of Taylorville, contacted the Christian County Sheriff's Office to report damage to his 2005 Ford pickup. Trelz stated someone cut the rear right tire while the vehicle was parked in the driveway overnight.

ARRESTS:
Jose I. Bautista, 19, of 1327 West River View, Decatur, was arrested September 3 on a bond forfeiture warrant.

Barney Emerson, 47, of 132 North 24th, Springfield, was arrested September 3 on a bond forfeiture for failure to appear.

Courtney E. Estes, 18, of 496 North 300East Road, Morrisonville, was arrested September 2 for aggravated assault.

Kyle Richards, 18, of 1600 East Stanford Avenue, Springfield, was arrested September 2 for burglary.

Jeremy R. Langley, 27, of 615 West Prairie Street, Decatur, was arrested September 2 on a bond forfeiture for methamphetamine precursor.

Casey J. Smith, 22, of 13734 Suhling Road, Carlinville, was arrested August 31, for possession of a controlled substance 

Nicholas L. Steele, 26, of 319 North Walnut Street, Assumption, was arrested August 31 on a probation violation warrant for violation of bail bond.

Kara S. Paoni, 29, of 2080 West Washington Street, Springfield, was arrested August 30 on a bond forfeiture for driving on a suspended license.

Richard L. Thurow, 42, of 410 Mundhenke Street, Palmer, was arrested August 30 on a warrant for aggravated criminal sex abuse.

Clyde D. Smith, 58, of 511 Chiles Street, Carlinville, was arrested August 31 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:


On September 2 at 2:03am, Taylorville Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Main Cross. Multiple subjects were leaving the Cork and Keg at the time and one of the subjects repeatedly attempted to intervene. Walter D. Harker, 50, of Taylorville, was arrested and issued a local ordinance violation for public intoxication.

On August 31 at approximately 8:00pm, Taylorville Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of West Street for a yard fire. Upon arrival, a Taylorville Police Department officer determined the fire was in the backyard of 508 West Street. The fire was in a burn pit. It was a pile of household trash that was on fire. The officer knew the owner of the residence to be Louis House, 47, of Taylorville. The officer located House and issued him a city ordinance citation for illegal burning.

On September 1 at 1:10 am, a Taylorville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Baughman Road. Following the stop, Matthew S. Tarrant, 24, of Bulpitt was arrested for possession of under 30 grams of cannabis. Tarrant was released on a notice to appear.
