THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Brett R. Vincent, 17, of 312 South Walnut, Mt. Auburn, was arrested July 30 for speeding.

Todd W. Tonelle, 47, of 517 North Lawn Avenue, Taylorville, was arrested July 31 for possession of a controlled substance

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:
On July 27 at 1:05am, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to a fight at 1300 West Adams. Upon further investigation, Alexander B. Shanks, 20, of Taylorville and Justin M. McKay, 20, of Taylorville, were arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.

On July 30 at 4:04pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer saw a white male subject on a bicycle at the intersection of Spresser Street and Cheney Street while on patrol. The bicycle matched the description of one reported stolen earlier. The officer made contact with Cory A. Skinner, 19, of Taylorville. Upon further investigation, Skinner was arrested for theft. Skinner was transported ti Taylorville Police Department, processed and released on a notice to appear.

ACCIDENTS:
On July 30 at 1:42pm, a 16-year-old female said was traveling north on Cheney when Brittany M. Spencer, 17, of Nokomis cut her off and did several "break checks" before stopping in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Cheney and Park Avenue. The 16-year-old said she was unable to stop before striking Spencer in the rear. The 16-year-old was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Spencer said she was traveling north on Cheney when the 16-year-old was following close behind her. Spencer said she slowed down to make a left turn onto Park Avenue when the 16-year-old struck her from the rear.
