Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 7-19-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

INCIDENTS:

On July 18, Harriett Morrissey, 61, of Taylorville reported a theft to the Christian County Sheriff's Office. A deputy responded to the call and spoke with Harriett. Harriett said that sometime overnight someone had entered her Dodge van and her Dodge truck located at her residence on 1412 West Gilpin Street and removed the GPS units from both of them. The GPS units were made by TomTom. The unknown subject(s) also removed the keys from the Dodge van and a small bag containing quarters from the truck. Harriett estimated ther would have been around 10 dollars in quarters.

On July 18, Bryan Grubaugh, 42, of Hewitville, called the Christian County Sheriff's Department to report that someone had entered his truck and stolen several items from it. A deputy met with Bryan. Bryan had already driven the truck to work and had gone through it looking for his wallet. Bryan said that his son had gotten up around 2am and noticed the light was on inside the truck. Bryan went out and found the back driver's side door to his Ford F250 quad cab truck was open. In the morning Bryan realized that his Orange Orion 1200 Watt amplifier was missing from under the back seat. Bryan was also missing his wallet from the center console.

 

ARRESTS:

Cortney M. Chaplin, 26, of 416 Fair Avenue, Pana, was arrested July 19 on a bond forfeiture for driving under the influence of drugs.

Clark D. Vaughan, 50, of 1371 East 900 North Road, Taylorville, was arrested July 19 for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs. 

James D. Snell, 19, of 104 East Washington, Edinburg, was arrested July 18 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:
On July 19 at 12:09am, a Taylorville Police Department Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. Under further investigation, Harold L. Friend, 48, of Owaneco, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Friend was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.

ACCIDENTS:
On July 18 at 2:21pm, Mary J. Joynt, 57, of Kincaid, was parked in a space at the MAI parking lot looking through her mail. Linda S. Hagood, 61, of Taylorville pulled in next to Joynt and opened the driver's side door. Hagood's door struck Joynt in the front passenger panel scrapping paint off. Both vehicles were moved prior to the arrival of a Taylorville Police Department officer. Hagood requested a State Crash Report.
