Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 7-17-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ACCIDENTS:
On July 8, Tiara N. Shull, 18, of Taylorville, was northbound on 400 East Road about 1/2 mile south of 750 North Road when she lost control and began to skid for 150" then turned sideways and continued to skid for 96" before going into the ditch on the west side of the road. Shull traveled 63" in the ditch and hit a embarkment near a culvert and began to overturn. Shull hit the ground at 48" beyond the culvert. Her vehicle traveled another 39" hit then 24" to impact and 21" to the last impact point and a final 30" before it came to a rest. Shull was transported to St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment of injuries.

On July 15, Austin D. Tryon, 17, of Kincaid, was northbound on County Road 5. Tryon stated he fell asleep, drove off the roadway on the right side striking a culvert. Tryon ended up in a field entrance on the right side of the roadway. No injuries were reported.

INCIDENTS:

On July 16, a Christian County Sheriff's deputy was sent to 1700 N 1000 E Road to speak with Darrin E. Bass, 39, of Taylorville, about damage to a field he farms. Bass stated he drove byy the field and noticed damage. There was a section of corn approximately 10 foot by 30 foot that was on the ground. Bass stated his father and mother, Everett and Pam Bass, own the land.

ARRESTS:

Robert C. Beard, 18, of 404 Carlin Street, Morrisonville, was arrested July 17 for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thomas J. Vavrik, 30, of 882 North 1700 East Road, Owaneco, was arrested July 16 on a bond forfeiture for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On July 16, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to the 100 block of East Vine Street in reference to people throwing sticks at cars. One male threw a stick that hit a parked car and ran off northwest behind the public library. He was not located in the area. Another male, Kristopher M. Swinburne, 24, of Taylorville was arrested on scene for a City Ordinance Ciolation of Public Intoxication. Swinburne was transported to Taylorville Police Department and released on a notice to appear.

On July 14, a Taylorville Police Department officer was sent to unknown subject laying on the curb by Palmer Bank. The subject was identified as Michael Alberts. The officer gave a ride to Alberts to 2100 Grand Boulevard Apartment B2. Alberts and Michael Masterson, 28, of Taylorville started arguing. The officer started to give Alberts a ride to a different location and Masterson came over the officer and struck Alberts in the right eye. Masterson was placed under arrest and transported to Taylorville Police Department. Masterson was processed and lodged in Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.
