Christian County Board Honors Retiring Security Officer At Their Meeting Tuesday Night

The Christian County Board honored Sheriff’s Deputy and Courthouse Security officer Mick Moliske on his retirement at their meeting Tuesday night. Chairman Paul Schmitz read a proclamation on behalf of the Board wishing Moliske the best of luck:

Moliske was presented with the proclamation following its reading.

 

The Christian County Board approved a job shadowing event that will be sponsored by the Christian County U of I Extension Office at their meeting Tuesday night. The program will be open to Christian County 4-H’ers or other students in seventh grade through high school. Chris Casey from the Extension office told the Board what they will be doing during the shadow:

The Christian County Board did not approve the proposed Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) negotiation team for the County at their meeting Tuesday night. The team would have been made up of: Bruce Engeling, Bruce Kettelkamp, Micki Ehrhardt, Fred Curtin, Jan Bland and Paul Schmitz with Attorney David Frenzia as the labor consultant. The motion failed on a 9-7 vote. The Board will address the issue at the next meeting.

 

The Christian County Board approved the training expenditure for department heads. The Board approved the motion for the department heads who are working on the Drug/Alcohol Policy to work with AFSCME on an agreement. The Board also approved the Affordable Care Act requirements update from Jeremy Travelstead from American Central Insurance who spoke at the Audit/Finance/Purchasing Committee meeting and approved the payment to Espy Services who looked over phone bills to see if the County was paying for things that they didn’t need to pay for.

 

The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:52pm.
