On July 12 around 7:30am, the Taylorville Police Department went to the residence of 52-year-old Jeffrey A. Strocher at 934 North 1500 East Road in Oweneco with a state authorized search warrant.

The search warrant followed a nearly two month investigation into the unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants. During the search, police found various pieces of equipment associated with the production of cannabis and 60 suspected cannabis sativa plants. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Illinois Enforcement Group assisted with the search warrant. 

Strocher was taken into custody and charged with the production of cannabis plants. At full maturity the cannabis sativa plants could have a street value of well over 100,000-dollars.
