Area Arrests/Accidents 6-17-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ACCIDENTS:

On June 16, John S. Muffick, 63, of Taylorville was traveling westbound on Lincoln Trail passing by Roosevelt Road when a deer struck the side of Muffick's vehicle causing damage to the entire driver's side. No injuries were reported.

 

INCIDENTS:

On June 12, the Christian County Sheriff's Office met with Robt McGehee of Taylorville at his home on 3833 Lake Drive. McGehee wanted to report damage to his yard. Damage was done to the yard with a chemical used to kill the grass. The damage happened between the night June 6 and the morning of June 7.

 

ARRESTS:

Jacob R. Conaway, 22, of 2035 North 600 East Road, Edinburg, was arrested on June 14 for possession control.

Christi J. Tedrow, 33, of 33 Kennedy Drive, Taylorville, was arrested on June 14 for operating uninsured.

Andrew M. McDonald, 18, of South Cherrywood Trailer Park, Taylorville was arrested on June 15 for unlawful possession of a firearm

Austin P. Green, 18, of 32 Mashie Court, Sherman, was arrested on June 15 for consumption of liquor by a person under the age of 21.

Shane A. Drum, 33, of 2350 East 600 Noth, Pana, was arrested on June 16 for domestic battery.

Shawn T. Stone, 22, of 735 Murphy School Road, Anna, was arrested on June 17 for driving under the influence of alcohol

Brock A. Emery, 19, of 126 East Street, Harvel, was arrested on June 17 for illegal consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

On June 15 at approximately 12:18am, Taylorville Police Department dispatch received  phone call from an employee at Walmart in regards to a tan Ford Taurus leaving the parking lot with 5 individuals that appeared to be under 21 with alcohol. A Taylorville Police Department officer saw the vehicle matching the description and found it on Haner Street. Subsequent to arrest, suspect David W. Moma, 21, of Taylorville admitted to taking a bottle of alcohol from Walmart. He was arrested and taken to Taylorville Police Department to be processed and released on a notice to appear for retail theft.

 

Two Taylorville Police Department officers inspected a car that on officer had located in reference to suspicious activity and underage drinking. One of the officers identified the backseat passenger as Andrew M. McDonald, 18, of Taylorville. The officer ran McDonald through Taylorville dispatch who advised McDonald had a valid warrant out of Christian County. McDonald was placed into custody and transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

 

On June 14 at 11:10pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer made contact with Christi Tedrow, 33, of Taylorville, at the Mach 1 on Springfield Road. The officer knew Tedrow to have a valid Christian County failure to appear warrant through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System. Tedrow was placed under arrest and transported to Christian County Correctional Center. 

 

ACCIDENTS:

On June 14 at approximately 2:22pm, both Mary Montgomery, 48, of Taylorville, and Brandon R. McCaughn, 18, of Taylorville, were traveling east on Spressor Street. An unknown vehicle was turning into a private drive just east of Shumway Street. McCaughn said the vehicle in front of him slowed suddenly so he had to slow suddenly to avoid hitting the unknown vehicle. Montgomaery said when McCaughn slowed down, she tried to slow down but was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting McCaughn. When asked, both Montgomery and McCaughn said they were not injured. A short time later, McCaughn complained of injuries. McCaughn was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital. Montgomery was towed from the scene.
