THE TAYLORVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CALLS:

MAY 29

1 Fire, 1 Automatic Alarm

On May 29th at 8:22pm, the Taylorville Fire Department received a call for a car fire. When firefighters arrived, they found a 2001 BMW 740iL fully engulfed in flames near an exposed garage and another car about 15 feet away. The fire was extinguished and everything was under control around 8:52am. The garage sustained heat damage to the siding and the other car, a 2000 Ford Taurus, had damage to the front bumper. Firefighters looked over the BMW and cooled the garage door siding. The owner of the car Todd Doneloe was on scene and reportedly stated that he had been having problems with the alternator. Doneloe said he would handle the towing. Firefighters checked the trunk of the car for a fire extinguisher but did not find one and then headed back to the station.
