SWEARING IN CEREMONY OF ELECTED OFFICIALS TOOK PLACE AT MONDAY NIGHT'S CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The Taylorville City Council Chambers were filled Monday evening as the swearing in ceremony of elected officials was held.

The Oath of Office was administered by Judge Paisley. Taking the Oath of Office were Mayor - Greg Brotherton, City Clerk - Pam Peabody, Newly Elected City Treasurer - Jaque Nation, Ward I Alderman - Larry Budd, Ward II Alderman - Rob Heberling, Ward IV Alderman - Shawn Burtle

Also taking the Oath of Office, was the new City Attorney Rocci Romano. The council approved Rocci Ramono 7-0.  Mayor Brotherton thanked Attorney David Fines for his years of service, and said they were wanting a "style change" in City Hall.

Others taking the Oath of Office were City Engineer Joe Greene, and Superintendents Dick Wiseman - Street & Sewer, George Calvert - Health & Building, David Speagle - Water, Dave Herpstreith - Chief of Police, Alan Jackson - Lake, Bill Newberry - Cemetery Sexton & Airport Manager, Cindy Brown - Human Resources. 

A special recognition was presented to retiring Alderman John Lawrence who was given a plaque for his service.  Also, receiving very special recognition was retiring City Treasurer Terri France.  She was awarded with a plaque, and an engraved vase.  All seven City Council members that were present at the meeting handed a red rose to Terri and Mayor Brotherton presented Terri with a white rose for her years of dedication and service to the City of Taylorville as City Treasurer. 

The Monday evening City Council Meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
