Havera: Indictments Handed Down in Pana Murder

A Christian County Grand Jury Wednesday returned indictments against four Pana residents in the death of Adam Bertin.  17 year old Dylan Carroll, 30 year old Lee Coke and 37 year old Victor Chain Pickel were all indicted on charges of mob action.  29 year old Travis Gregg was indicted on first degree murder charges along with mob action.

29 year old Adam Bertin of Pana was reportedly brought to Pana Community Hospital early in the morning on April 13th.  He had apparently been stabbed in the neck during an incident at a family get together.  He was pronounced dead just after 4am that day.

The investigation was time-consuming because there were reportedly dozens of witnesses to interview and a mountain of evidence to process.

Bond for Travis Gregg is set at a half million dollars.  He could be sentenced to up to 60 years in prison if convicted.  The other defendants are being held on a quarter of a million dollars bond.

Christian County State’s Attorney Mike Havera says undisclosed charges have also been filed against a juvenile in the case.
