>>Five Cardinals Opt For Salary Arbitration

(undated)  --  Four Cardinals pitchers and key position player David Freese filed for salary
arbitration Tuesday.  The four pitchers are Mitchell Boggs, Jason Motte, Edward
Mujica [Moo-hee-cuh] and Marc Rzepczynski [Zep-chin-ski].  The Cardinals must
reach new contracts with the players or go to arbitration with them.

>>Cardinals To Appear Twice On Sunday Night

(St. Louis, MO)  --  The Cardinals were selected for a pair of ESPN Sunday Night Baseball telecasts
in the first half of the season.  Both are on the road. They will play the
Philadelphia Phillies on April 21st and the Chicago Cubs on July 14th. That's
the final game of the first half of the season heading into the All-Star break.

>>Illini Set For Northwestern

(Madison, WI)  --  The Fighting Illini hope to get back on track when the host Northwestern tomorrow.  Illinois
dropped from number-13 to 22nd in the "USA Today" Top-25 Poll.  Illinois went
0-and-2 last week with the losses at the hands of Minnesota and Wisconsin.

>>Bears To Hire Trestman As Coach

(Lake Forest, IL)  --  The Bears have reportedly found their next head coach.  The "Chicago Tribune" is reporting that the "Monsters of the Midway" are set to hire Marc Trestman for the job. 
Trestman had previously been the head coach of the Canadian Football League's
Montreal Alouettes since 2008.  The 57-year-old won two Grey Cup's in
his time in Montreal.  He was an assistant coach in the NFL starting in the
mid-80's with a number of teams.  This will be his first NFL head coaching job. 
Trestman was selected over Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Seahawks
offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
