p.m.. The 10th-ranked Illini improved to 12-and-0 by beating Eastern Kentucky
on Sunday. Mizzou is 9-and-1 following Monday night's win over South Carolina

(Lake Forest, IL) -- The Chicago Bears placed running back Michael Bush on injured reserve with a rib injury, ending his season. Bush rushed for 411 yards and five touchdowns this season and
caught nine passes for 83 yards. The team signed Kahlil [Kaw-lil] Bell to fill
the vacated roster spot. The Bears play at Arizona this Sunday.

(Chicago, IL) -- The Chicago Cubs are trying to build some depth in their starting rotation and are targeting
veterans Edwin Jackson and Carlos Villanueva [[Vi-ya-nueh-va]], according to a
report in "The Chicago Tribune." Villanueva was finalizing an agreement
Wednesday night. Jackson, who has pitched a no-hitter in his career, is still
weighing other offers.
