>>Cards Even Series With Nationals

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Carlos Beltran homered twice and drove in three as the Cardinals crushed the Nationals,
12-4, to even up their National League Division Series at a game apiece.  Allen
Craig and Daniel Descalso also went deep, while Jon Jay knocked in three runs
for the Cards, who lost 3-2 in Game One of the best-of-five series on Sunday. 
Lance Lynn tossed three innings of two-run ball to pick up the win in relief. 
The Nats will host Game Three tomorrow.

>>Garcia To Be Removed From Roster With Injury

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Jaime Garcia left yesterday's win over the Nationals with a shoulder injury.  The "Post-Dispatch" reports the Cardinals will remove Garcia from the NLDS roster due to the
injury.  If the Cards replace Garcia, he would be ineligible to pitch in the
NLCS.

>>Police Say Bears Fan Was Killed For Talking To Suspect's Wife

(Jacksonville, FL)  --  Police in Florida believe a Bears fan had his
throat slit for talking to the wife of his alleged murderer.  Jacksonville
County Police Lieutenant Rob Schoonover believes Matthew Hinson used a pocket
knife to kill William "Chris" Pettry.  Pettry was visiting Jacksonville from
Lake Villa to see the Bears take-on the Jaguars.

>>Bulls Open Preseason Play

(Chicago, IL)  --  The Bulls begin preseason play against
the Grizzlies at the United Center at 7:00 tonight.  The contest is the first of
three exhibition games for the Bulls this week.  Chicago will host Cleveland at
Assembly Hall on Friday before hitting the road to face the Timberwolves on
Saturday.

>>Noah's Status Uncertain

(Chicago, IL)  --  It's unclear if Bulls center Joakim Noah will play in tonight's game against the
Grizzlies.  Head coach Tom Thibodeau said Noah missed his third straight
practice yesterday due to personal reasons.  Noah will be a game-time decision.
