>>Cards Outlast Dodgers In Twelve Innings

(Los Angeles, CA)  --  Jon Jay's RBI double ignited a three-run 12th inning as the Cardinals beat the
Dodgers, 5-2.  Shelby Miller picked up his first major league victory in relief
and Jason Motte notched his 35th save.  Andre Ethier homered for LA.  The
Cardinals host the Astros starting tomorrow night.

>>Rizzo, Cubs Outslug Pirates

(Chicago, IL)  --  Anthony Rizzo's grand slam capped a five-run sixth inning and the Cubs added three more in the eighth en route to a 13-9 win over the Pirates.  Rizzo finished 3-for-6 with two
homers and six RBI for Chicago, which overcame 6-1 and 9-5 deficits.  The finale
of the four-game set is tonight.

>>Six-Run Sixth Helps White Sox Sweep Twins

(Minneapolis, MN)  --  Adam Dunn's 39th home run of the season ignited a six-run sixth inning as the
White Sox trounced the Twins, 9-2.  Dayan Viciedo also homered and drove in
three for Chicago, which swept the three-game series at Target Fied.  Jake Peavy
pitched six innings of two-run ball to even his record at 11-and-11.  The Sox
return home to make up Thursday's rained out game against the Tigers this
afternoon.  Jose Quintana will take the mound against Doug Fister as Chicago
leads Detroit by two games in the AL Central.

>>Mizzou, Illinois Both Win

(Undated)  --  Missouri and Illinois both got wins on the gridiron Saturday.  Corbin Berkstresser started for injured QB James Franklin as the Tigers topped Arizona State 24-20 at Faurot Field. 
Mizzou is now 2-and-1.  The Fighting Illini blew out Charleston Southern 44-0 to
also improve to 2-and-1.

>>Bradford Rallies Rams Past Redskins, RG3

(St. Louis, MO)  --  Sam Bradford was 26-of-35 for 310 yards and three touchdowns as the Rams rallied
for a 31-28 win over the Redskins in their home opener.  Robert Griffin the
Third passed for one TD and ran for two more for Washington, which led 21-6. 
The 1-and-1 Rams are at Chicago Sunday.
