Miller Media Group's groovy 93.5, Taylorville Kiwanis Raise $1337 During Annual Radiothon

           (Taylorville)—The Taylorville Kiwanis Club held its annual Radiothon fund-raiser for local children and youth projects on Tuesday, on Miller Media Group radio station groovy 93.5 in Taylorville.

 

          Kiwanis members secured sponsorships from local businesses, then read the sponsor ads live on-the-air thru-out the day.  Kiwanis members sold some $2675 in sponsorships, and groovy 93.5 then donated half of the total, or $1337.50, to the club.  Miller Media Group president Randal J. Miller, also a member of the club, presented the check to club president Matt Richardson, during the show.  Miller also hosted the Radiothon.

 

            Club president Matt Richardson told listeners during the show, that Kiwanis Park, which was built with funds raised by the local Kiwanis Club, is a great place for families and children to use.

          Kiwanis members that were celebrity D-J’s for the day included Melisa Herwig, Jenni Stephens, Greg Stoerger, Branden Lawrence, Matt Richardson, Rev. Dick Wamsley, Joe Hauser, Dean Ray, Joe Meeks, Gina Prinzavalli, Bill Kerns, Elle Kammerer, and Bernie Curvey.

 

          This marks over 16 years that the Miller Media Group and the Taylorville Kiwanis Club have partnered for the annual Kiwanis Radiothon.  In those over 16 years, over $20,000 has been raised by the club for local projects for children and youth.
