At least one person is dead and five others seriously injured after an 18-wheeler collided with a van this morning. The van was carrying four kids and two staff members of the Kemmerer Village, a child care agency in Assumption. One of the staff members was killed.
The semi-driver wasn't injured. It happened at an unmarked intersection at county roads 800 North and 2500 East in Christian County.
Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp says the semi was carrying a load of rocks and was turning into a company that makes asphalt. He says they're reconstructing the crash scene to determine what happened. At this point, he urges all drivers to come to a complete stop at an intersection.
