Donald L Patton 66 of Pana was traveling west on 250 North Road when a deer came onto the roadway. According to a witness Patton could not avoid the deer on his 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Patton received treatment for his injuries at a Springfield hospital. Patton skidded around 20 feet after impact with the deer, then traveled around 38 feet to a point of rest in the north ditch.
