>>Cards Crush Dodgers
(St. Louis, MO)  --  Allen Craig's two-run double capped off a six-run sixth inning as the Cardinals crushed the Dodgers, 8-2.  Rafael Furcal went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored, while Adam Wainwright plated two runs and scored twice for the Cards, who have won four of their last five games.  On the mound, Wainwright struck out seven over seven-and-a-third innings of two-run ball as he improved to 8-and-10.  The series continues this evening as Kyle Lohse [[ low-sh ]] gets the start against Aaron Harang.

>>Maholm, Cubs Cruise Over Pirates
(Pittsburgh, PA)  --  Alfonso Soriano smacked a two-run homer to back eight stellar innings from Paul Maholm [[ muh-HALL-um ]] as the Cubs cruised to a 5-1 win over the Pirates last night at PNC Park.  Maholm struck out seven and allowed just one run on four hits to improve to 9-and-6 on the season.  Starlin Castro added a solo homer and David DeJesus had a two-run double for Chicago, which has won back-to-back games on the heels of a three-game slide.  Ryan Dempster is scheduled to start against Kevin Correia in this afternoon's series finale.

>>White Sox Storm Past Twins

(Chicago, IL)  --  Adam Dunn went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs and four RBI as the White Sox scored nine unanswered runs to rally for an 11-4 win over the Twins.  Alexei Ramirez clubbed
a two-run homer and Paul Konerko added a solo shot for Chicago, which has won
the first two in the three-game set.  Jake Peavy goes up against Nick Blackburn
in this afternoon's series finale.

>>Bears' Veterans, Rookies Report To Camp

(Bourbonnais, IL)  --  The Chicago Bears' veterans and rookies report to training camp today at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais.  The team's first practice is slated for tomorrow afternoon. 
Family Fest is on Friday, August 3rd at Soldier Field.  Chicago's first
preseason game is on Thursday, August 9th in the Windy City against Peyton
Manning and the Denver Broncos.
