The Dudley Smith Farm in Christian County held a Beef Cow-Calf Field Day on Thursday. Amanda Cole, County Extension Director for Christian, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery Counties, says that she wants to better inform people of the services that the extension provides.

Ed Ballard who was one of the speakers at the event, and is a retired U of I extension Animal Systems worker says that there is some new stuff going on at Dudley Smith Farm for 2012.

Gary Letterly of the U of I Extension Environmental and Energy Stewardship says that this farm is a great resource for Christian County.

Other speakers at the event included Jacob Segers with the University of Illinois ACES, Animal Science Department, Travis Meteer with the U of I Extension, Mike Vincent of the U of I Extension Crop Sciences Department and Wendy White with the U of I Extension Crop Sciences Department.
