On Monday Henry E. Jaeger 66 of Highland was driving his bus full of 41 people, including 33 students south on I-55 near milepost 57.

Gerald A. Rees 54 of Hattieville Arkansas was driving in front of Jaeger in his semi and had slowed for construction traffic. Jaeger did not realize that Rees had slowed in time to avoid hitting him. The right front of the bus hit the left rear of the trailer being pulled by Rees.

Jaeger had serious injuries and was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. Jaeger was also charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
