Hometown Food Center in Pana is in the midst of a major remodel, to turn the building into Pana's new Save-A-Lot store. Owner Tim Christer told Regional Radio News the remodeling includes new painting, floor and shelving.

Christer says he decided to convert from a conventional grocery store to a Save-A-Lot, to save customers up to 40-percent on their food bill.

Christer and his wife Jennifer have owned and operated a grocery store in Pana for some 10 years.
