Stroke the Third Leading Cause of Death

According to the Center for Disease Control Stroke is the third highest cause of death in the United States. Dr. Matt Johnson the ER director at Taylorville Memorial Hospital says that people above the age of 65 are the most at risk.

Johnson says that there are many signs of a stroke you should be aware of.

Johnson says that not only is stroke the third leading cause of death, but it is the leading cause of permanent disability.

Johnson says that reducing risk factors can lower the chance of having a stroke.

According to Stroke.Org 80% of strokes are preventable.
