Illinoisans Urged To Prepare For Severe Weather

It's Severe Weather Readiness Week in Illinois and officials are urging people to create a plan in case of emergency.  Federal, state, and local agencies across the nation are encouraging people to know their severe weather risks, take action to be prepared and set an example for others.

Illinois Emergency Management Agency Director Jonathon Monken says people may not be able to prevent severe weather but they can lessen its impact and save lives if they're better prepared. Information on how to prepare is available online at Ready.Illinois.gov.
