Federal Indictment Handed Down

A federal grand jury Thursday handed down a  three-count indictment charging a Farmersville woman with distributing methadone in Christian and Montgomery counties. The indictment alleges the crimes took place last June.

The affadavit in support of the indictment alleges 42 year old Lori D. Langen supplied the drugs to a Christian County woman who subsequently died of an overdose.

The charges are a result of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Illinois State Police, Central Illinois Enforcement Group, the Christian County Sherrifs Office, the Stonington Police Department and the Christian County Coroner.

Langen, who remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, could face life in prison if convicted.
