Illinois gamblers won't have to leave the comfort of their homes to buy a lottery ticket starting Sunday. That's because the tickets will be sold online. Illinois is the first state to legalize online lottery sales, which is expected to bring in at least one-million new players when jackpots are high.
Those who purchase tickets online will have to register their personal information at IllinoisLottery.com, which includes Social Security number and date of birth.
Only Illinois residents over the age of 18 will be allowed to play. Lottery officials say purchases will be capped at 100-dollars a day
