Noise Complaint Leads to Battery Arrest

On Thursday morning an officer was sent to a loud noise complaint on the 300 block of East Pleasant Street in Taylorville. Christopher J. Johnson, 19, of Taylorville was found staggering down the middle of the road bleeding from the head.

When an officer made contact with him Johnson immediately ran from the squad east on Pleasant Street. Johnson was caught around a block and a half from where the chase started.

EMS was dispatched to the officer's location and Johnson was transported by Dunn's Ambulance to the Taylorville Memorial Hospital ER.

Officers then went and spoke with Joshua A. Westerfield and James M. Katcher about the night's events. After a short interview and after the scene was processed officers left statement forms with everyone to be completed.

Officers then went to the ER and issued Johnson a notice to appear for battery, disorderly conduct, resisting a police officer and illegal consumption and possession of alcohol by a minor.
