At least ten people are dead after an early morning tornado swept through Harrisburg. Many others were injured in the twister which hit just after five this morning, leaving homes and businesses in shambles.
Governor Quinn is expected to assess the damage later today but in the meantime, emergency crews have been deployed to the area.
The Illinois Emergency Management Association is among those heading in. They're prepared to offer assistance and help in any way they can.
Sightseers are urged to stay away from the area because gas lines are leaking and power lines are down.
