Area Arrests

A male juvenile earned some coal in his stocking on Christmas Eve. It was around 12:40am when officers reported noticed a car driving the wrong way on the Taylorville Square. Cops tried to affect a traffic stop, but the drive allegedly tried to elude officers. The male juvenile, a Taylorville resident, was eventually pulled over near the intersection of Adams and Washington streets. The driver was arrested on charges of aggravated fleeing, eluding, possession of both a controlled substance and cannabis, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.

Good police work on Christmas Eve ended in the arrest of a Taylorville Juvenile on drug charges. According to reports, a Taylorville officer noticed a car with a person in it was sitting near some storage units close to the intersection of Maincross and Long streets with the vehicle lights off. After a short investigation the male juvenile was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis.

Jacob B. Melton, 28, of Roby, Illinois was arrested on an original arrest warrant for violation of probation.

Stacia A. Tom, 22, of Taylorville was arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for driving under the influence of alcohol. 

Richard S. Ginger, 29, of Illiopolis was arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for burglary. 

Kevin L. Honaker, 19, of Sawyerville, Il was arrested on a bond forfeiture warrant for domestic battery. 

Bailey C. Gronewald, 24, of Tovey was arrested for battery.
