Beltran Signs With Cardinals

 All-Star outfielder Carlos Beltran has agreed to a two-year deal with the St. Louis Cardinals.  The deal is pending a physical.  According to the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch", the pact is worth 26-million dollars.  Beltran played in 98 games with the New York Mets before he was traded to the San Francisco Giants last season.  He hit .300 with 22 homers and 84 RBI in 142 games with New York and San Fran.  The 34-year-old Beltran is a career .283 hitter with 302 homers and 1,146 RBI.  The Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays were among other teams reportedly interested in the six-time All-Star.
