The Cardinals have been honored as Baseball America's Organization of the Year. They used a late September run to get into the playoffs and eventually win their 11th World Series championship. Class-A Quad Cities and Rookie League Johnson City also won titles in 2011. Double-A Springfield first baseman Matt Adams was also named Texas League Player of the Year.
