Lack Of Leadership Equals No Tax Deal

Senate leaders say Governor Quinn's lack of leadership is part to blame for the  legislature's failure to pass tax breaks for Sears and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.  Senate Minority Leader Christine Radogno says it could mean a loss of jobs for the state.

Radogno says Quinn was nowhere to be found during yesterday's one day emergency session.  Lawmakers were in town specifically to pass the plan to give 100-million dollars in tax breaks to the two corporations.  It passed in the Senate but received a mere eight votes in the House.  The measure would've also provided some benefits for smaller businesses, the film industry, and the low-income workers in the state.
