Christian County Court Cases 8/28/17

These are the results of the following court cases heard in the Christian County Court on Monday, August 28th:

 

16CF006 - Clifford D. Branham - Theft Between $500 and $10,000 - Pre-trial. Negotiated plea. He will plead guilty as charged. He will be sentenced to three years in the prison with one year of supervised release. Factual basis is given.

 

17CF111 - Justin M. Bright - Domestic Battery With a Prior and Aggravated Battery in a Public Place - Pre-trial. Also 17CF109 - Criminal Trespassing to Residence With Person Present and 2 Counts of Battery, 17CF008 - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - Petition to Revoke / Pre-trial, and multiple traffic charges. New count is filed. Preliminary hearing scheduled for August 30 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF150 - Ashli N. Brumberlow - 2 Counts of Meth Delivery Less Than 5 Grams - Preliminary Hearing. Preliminary hearing is waived. Formal arraignment is waived. Defendant pleads not guilty. Jury trial requested and scheduled for December. Final pre-trial set for November 20 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF002 - Treylon L. Fuller - Possession of Stolen Firearm and Manufacturing / Delivery of Cannabis Between 30 and 500 Grams - Pre-trial. Negotiated plea is reached. He would plead guilty to stolen firearm charge. He would be sentenced to 60 days in jail and two years probation. Factual basis is given. Cannabis charge is dismissed as part of the plea.

 

17CF035 - Brett R. Grant - Possession of Meth Less Than 5 Grams - Pre-trial. Case is dismissed.

 

13CF208 - Tanya K. Mansfield - Manufacturing / Delivery of Cannabis Between 10 and 30 Grams and Narcotics Possession - Pre-trial. Not here. Warrant issued. Bond set for $50,000.

 

17CF022 - Justin L. Marlow - Domestic Battery With a Prior - Pre-trial. Also 17CM017 - Criminal Trespassing to State Land. State looking to push jury trial back because of reluctant witness. Defense objects. Jury trial continued until October, pre-trial scheduled for September 25 at 10 a.m.

 

16CF109 - Bradley E. Martin - Child Pornography and 2 Counts of Child Pornography Possession - Sentence Reconsidering Hearing. Motion is denied. Appellate defender is appointed as his counsel is leaving their practice. Defendant will have 30 days to consider appeal.

 

17CM077 - Tanner J. McGinnis - Retail Theft Less Than $300 - Counsel Only Status. Case dismissed without prejudice.

 

17CF029 - Samuel R. Merriman - Aggravated Battery - Pre-trial. State has made an offer. Next court date scheduled for October 10 at 10 a.m.

 

16CM232 - Donald R. Minard - Violating a Protection Order - Pre-trial. Defense looking to get a psych eval of the defendant. Next court date scheduled for September 26 at 10 a.m.

 

17CM078 - Austin D. E. Owens - Retail Theft Less Than $300 - Counsel Only Status. Case dismissed without prejudice.

 

16CF092 - Danielle E. Patnode - Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Syringe/Needles/etc. - Petition to Revoke / Pre-trial. Also, 16CM083 - Retail Theft Less Than $300. Patnode is looking to get into treatment. Next court appearance scheduled for September 5 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF066 - Mary A. Scott - Meth Delivery Between 100 and 400 Grams - Pre-trial. Defense not ready for trial. Jury trial continued until October. Final pre-trial and motion hearing scheduled for September 25 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF091 - Michael P. Shilling - 7 Counts of Child Pornography Possession - Pre-trial. Officer has not executed search warrant yet. Still waiting if more charges will be filed. Next court date scheduled for September 7 at 10 a.m.

 

17CF140- Rodney D. Sizemore - Criminal Damage to Government Property Less Than $500. - Pre-trial. Also, 17CF128 - Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and multiple traffic charges. State has made an offer, but defendant rejects offer. Defense would like more time to talk to state. Jury trial continued to October. Final pre-trial scheduled for September 25 at 10 a.m.

 

17CM074 - Randy L. Sparling - Criminal Damage to Property Less Than $500 - Pre-trial. State has made an offer, defense made counteroffer. Pre-trial Continued to August 30 at 10 a.m.

 

17CM062 - Francis M. Weber - Obstructing Identification - Negotiated Plea. - Also two traffic charges. He will plead guilty to all of the charges. He is sentenced to 30 days in the county jail. Next court date scheduled for November 15 at 9 a.m.
