Christian County Court Cases 2/28/17

These are the results of the following court cases heard on Tuesday, February 28th at the Christian County Courthouse.

 

16CF213 - Lacy, Jessie - Negotiated Plea - Plea reached. Defendant will plead guilty to count 1, and placed on probation for two years. Also sentenced for 42 days in the Christian County Jail with credit for 42 days served, and will also have court costs to pay. State will also move to nolly a previous misdemeanor charge.

 

13CF009 - Morgason, Christopher L - PTR/First Appearance - State alleging that defendant hasn’t paid fines and fees with the probation order nor attended counseling. Defendant requested a public defender, saying that he’s unemployed. Public defender appointed. Next court date set for April 3rd.


17CF030 - Taylor, Brian D - Motion to Reduce Bail - Defendant has a felony conviction nearly 20 years ago, but hasn’t had any since. Says he has no ability to post bond where it’s currently set, but could post a $10,000 bond. Defense argues that bond is set for a probational offense, and asks for a $10,000 bond. State is arguing accuracy of criminal record, although there are no prior controlled substance convictions. Willing to reduce bond to $10,000 however. Court allows bond to be reduced to $10,000 with other conditions to apply. Next court date was set for March 6th for prelim hearing, although defense waived it during hearing. Requests pretrial, which was set for March 31st.
