Standing Against Addiction & Drugs

S.A.A.D (Standing Against Addiction & Drugs) Narcotics Anonymous meets on Sundays at 4 p.m. at 119 W. State Street in Nokomis. Nar-Anon Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Al-Anon Monday at 7 p.m.

Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service

The Reverend Paul Stroup of the Clinton Presbyterian Church will deliver the evening's message. A reception will follow the service.  This service is sponsored in part by the Clinton Area Ministerial Association.

Steiner/Hochwartner Duo Central Christian Church

The Steiner/Hochwartner Duo will present a trombone/organ/piano concert at Central Christian Church, 650 West William Street, Decatur, Illinois on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 2:00pm. The concert is free admission and is open to the public.

 

Italian Trombonist Peter Steiner's playing has been described as "beautifully controlled with a vocal sound" and he is recognized around the world as "a new trombone star within his generation," playing with total control". Constanze Hochwartner received her first piano lessons at the young age of three, before being accepted into a class for gifted students in 2005 at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. After graduating from high school, she switched her focus from piano to organ and started her studies in concert performance for organ with Univ. Prof. Ulrich Walther.
