DeWitt County SWCD Annual Meeting

7:30AM

The DeWitt County Soil & Water Conservation District’s 74th Annual Meeting has been set for
Thursday, February 1, 2018, at The Abagail, in Clinton. Registration will begin at 7:30 AM, with a
buffet breakfast, served at 8:00 A.M.

Our speaker for this year’s event is Dr. Ford Baldwin, of Practical Weed Consultants of
Arkansas. He will enlighten us on weed resistance, the Dicamba – Liberty drama, and hybrid
selection. He was with the University of Arkansas Extension for 28 years and since 2001 has been
working as a private agricultural consultant. He writes weekly for Delta Press. He also has been an
expert witness in several legal cases involving agriculture. He has been asked by insurance
companies to mediate negotiations to determine fairness for all involved. He prides himself on
keeping an unbiased opinion in all of his recommendations and legal matters.

A short business meeting will be held. Three people will be elected for a two-year term as
members of the Board of Directors. A review of the past year’s successes and the coming year’s
programs will be presented. There is no charge for attendance; although donations will be accepted
at the door to help offset the cost of the meal. The District board and employees sincerely hope you
will join us on February 1st, 2018, for excellent food, good friends, and fellowship.

Please phone the District at 217-935-6504, ext. 3, by Friday, January 26, 2018, to make reservations.
