Area Arrests/Traffic Accidents 3-18-13

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

William C. Miller, 43, of 2721 N. 2100 East Rd., Blue Mound, was arrested for aggravated domestic battery. 

Paul Berner, 66, of 1253 N. 2500 East Rd., Assumption, was arrested on March 18 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.

Wanda J. Budds, 58, of 405 E. 2nd Street, Pana, was arrested on March 17 for burglary.

Kenneth R. O'Brian, 20, of 360 East 900 North Rd., Morrisonville, was arrested on March 17 for possession of liquor and consumption of liquor. 

Mark G. Goebel, 21, of 204 N. Monroe, of Morrisonville, was arrested on March 17 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, illegal possession/transportation. 

Travis M. Gregg, 28, of 2805 Moultrie Ave., Mattoon, was arrested on March 16 on a bond forfeiture warrant for unspecified statute and aggravated reckless driving.

Chay J. Anthony, 32, of 6 West Haven Ct., Taylorville, was arrested on March 16 on a bond forfeiture warrant for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. 

Eric T. Mort, 22, of 1459 N. 8th Street, Springfield, was arrested on March 15 on a bond forfeiture warant for unspecified statute.

Elizabeth M. Spencer, 40, of 977 N. 877 East Rd., Palmer, was arrested on March 16 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. 

Michael L. Knowles, 38, of Blue Mound was arrested on March 16 for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. 

On February 28, George W. Anderson telephoned the Christian County Sheriff's Office to report that theft of material from a construction site located at 1546 Illinois Rt. 29.  Property taken from the United Construction Midwest site included scrap metal and both new and used parts.  The items included assembly parts, sprockets, shafts, a chain, return rollers and rods, castings, and calibration weights.  The incident occurred sometime between January 28 and February 28. 

On March 17, Donald DeLong reported that person(s) had damaged his truck while it was parked at 410 Borah Ave.  When Christian County Sheriff's Office Deputy arrived on scene, Donald showed the damage to the truck.  The tailgate had been schatched and the passenger door.  Person(s) also punched several holes in the oil filter allowing the oil to drain from the engine.  No other damage was reported. 

TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS:

On March 15 at approximately 12:44 am, Christopher W. Maltby, 23, of Edinburg, was northbound on houston STreet.  He accelerated out of a parking lot located at 1500 South Houston.  He began to spin the tires on the vehicle causing it to fish tail, initially to the east.  Maltby over corrected and began to travel to the west.  He traveled off the raod and struck the east side, north portion of the house located at 1421 South Houston.

Michael L. Knowles, 38, of Blue Mound, was east bound on Tpwnship Rd. 14 and lost control of his 1998 Oldsmobile Auro, and went into a ditch on the north side of the roadaway.  His vehicle struck the field entrance culvert causing his vehicle to flip on its top.  Maltby was uninjured in the accident. 

Sarah K. Hogarth, 33, of Stonington, was westbound on Second sTreet in Stonington.  She was at teh intersection on Maple facing north.  Hogarth entered the intersection failing to yield and struck Ricci L. Hamell, Jr., 30, of Taylorville in the front drivers's side.  Bothunits received front-end damage.  No injuries were reported. 

Vivian J. Batty, 77, of Stonington, was traveling west on County Hwy. 4 and stopped at the stop sing on County Hwy 4.  She then proceeded on to Rt. 48.  Batty did not see Richard D. Walter, 66, of Blue Mound on Rt. 48 traveling south and hit him on the rear driver side. 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT THE FOLLOWING:

On March 15 at 9:06 am, Jacob C. Johnson, 32, of Taylorville, called the Taylorville Police Department and said he found out he had a warrant from Sangamon County and requested to turn himself in.  Taylorvile Police Sgt. went to 908 E. Adams.  Johnson told the officer he had a warrant.  It was ran through Law Enforcement Agency Data System and came back with a valid warrant.  He was arrested, processed and lodged at Christian County Correctional Center. 

A Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol and observed a blue vehicle with a female driver traveling on Spresser Street.  A registration check on the the vehicle showed that the female registered owner was suspended.  Taylorville Police Department officer later located the vehicle and the driver, Heather Meinart-Farlow, 31, of Taylorville.  She was released on a notice to appear.

On March15 at 10:03 pm,a Taylorville Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an Illinois Vehicle Code violation.  A consensual vehicle search was conducted and the juvenile driver was arrested for possession of cannabis.  He was transported to the Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.

On March 16 at 12:57 pm, Taylorville Police Sgt. was out with a broke down truck in the 800 block of West Vandeveer.  He knew the subjects working on the truck as Chay Anthony and Josh Keathley.  He ran both subjects through Law Enforcement  Agency Data System, and it came back that both were wanted.  Josh Keathley warrant was out of the geographic area.  Chay Anthony was wanted out of Shelby County for failure to appear for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  Chay Anthony was arrested, processed and lodged at the Christian County Correctional Center.

On March 17, at 1:00 am, at Taylorville Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for an Illinois Vehicle Code Violation.  Upon further investigation, the male driver, Michael D. Kennedy, 58, of Taylorville was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  He was transported to the Police Department, and released after posting bond. 

On March 18 at 2:55 am, Taylorville Police Department officers arrived at 609 W. Franklin Street in reference to underage drinking.  Three juvenile and Aaron Logue, 20, of Taylorville were arrested for illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.  They were transported to the Taylorville Police Department for processing.  The juveniles were released to there parents.  Aaron Logue was issued a notice to Appear.
